BTS are no strangers to hitting No. 1 at this point in their time together, and they regularly rise right to the top of a number of Billboard charts whenever they have a new track to share with their fan base…and then typically for a long period afterward. This week, the band is steady atop both the Hot 100 and the Digital Song Sales rankings with their current single “Butter,” and they may very well collect another leader on both of those tallies in a matter of days with their just-released track “Permission to Dance.”
While the group may be focused on those two tunes, BTS fans haven’t forgotten about their older material, and this frame they’ve come together and combined their buying power to send one of the septet’s most beloved album cuts to the top of a Billboard list they dominate like none in history ever have.
BTS are back at No. 1 on this week’s World Digital Song Sales chart, Billboard’s weekly purchase-only list of the bestselling “world” tunes in America. The band doesn’t rise to the summit with a brand new release, but rather a track that is now almost three years old, but which apparently hasn’t diminished in popularity.
“Euphoria” rises from No. 7 to No. 1 on the latest edition of the World Digital Song Sales chart, hitting the peak for the first time. The tune has now lived on the tally for almost a year and a half (it’s now up to 73 turns on the ranking), but somehow it never managed to rise all the way to the summit until this frame.
BTS have now accrued an incredible 30 No. 1 hits on the World Digital Song Sales chart, more than anyone else in the ranking’s history. The seven member vocal act has already claimed the record as the act with the most leaders in that one ranking’s tenure for some time now, and every few months they land another champion, extending their record even further.
“Euphoria” is BTS’s sixth new No. 1 of 2021 on the World Digital Song Sales chart, an incredible sum considering the year isn’t even seven months old. Amazingly, just one of those leaders was released this year, while the rest, like their latest, shot to the top thanks to concentrated fan efforts.
