Festive Sale: Indian consumers shop heavily during the festive season in the country and a similar trend is being seen this year as well. This year, e-commerce companies have sold goods worth Rs 24,500 crore, or $ 3.5 billion, in the first four days of the September festive season sale.
Around 1100 mobile phones sold every minute
According to a report by strategy advisory company RedSeer, around 1100 mobile phones were sold every minute on major e-commerce platforms, valued at Rs 11,000 crore, during this period. It has been sold in the highest premium phone category.
5500 crore sales in four days in fashion category
Apart from this, the daily average gross merchandise value (GMV) in the fashion category saw a jump of 4.5 times as compared to the normal trading day. In the first four days, sales of Rs 5,500 crore were made in this category.
$3.5 billion in sales from September 22 to 25
According to the report, “During the first four days of the sale of the first festive season i.e. 22 to 25 September, e-commerce platforms have sold 24.5 thousand crore rupees or $ 3.5 billion. It contributes 60 per cent of the estimated gross merchandise value for festive sales. This figure indicates a better than expected start to the festive season this year.
There are three festive sales before Diwali
According to the report, e-commerce platforms organize three festive season sales before Diwali. Of these, the first sale is usually the biggest and accounts for more than 50 per cent of the total sales during the festive period.
