Padma Awards 2023: President Draupadi Murmu has honored many people from different fields with Padma Awards for 2023. This time three people have been given Padma Awards from the industry, out of which two are posthumous. Kumar Mangalam Birla, chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, has been awarded the Padma Bhushan, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, who is considered the Warren Buffett of the Indian stock market, has been posthumously awarded the Padma Shri and Ariz Pirojshaw Khambata, the founder of Rasna, has also been posthumously awarded the Padma Shri.
The President honored Kumar Mangalam Birla with the Padma Bhushan in the program held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan for the Padma award. He has been awarded the Padma Bhushan in the field of trade and industry. Kumar Mangalam Birla is an Indian billionaire businessman and chairman of the Aditya Birla Group. He is also the Chancellor of Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani and Chairman of IIM Ahmedabad. The group is present in sectors ranging from Cement, Aluminium, Retail to Telecom and Financial Sector.
Rakesh Radheshyam Jhunjhunwala has been posthumously awarded the Padma Shri. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s wife Rekha Jhunjhunwala received this honor from the President. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala has been given this honor for the field of trade and industry. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala died on August 14 last year. Jhunjhunwala was called “India’s Warren Buffett and Big Bull”. He was widely known for his stock market predictions. Even before his death, he had decided to invest in Singer India.
Ariz Pirojshaw Khambatta, the founder of Rasna, has been awarded the Padma Shri posthumously. He died in November 2022. In the year 1976, Ariz Pirojshaw Khambata had laid the foundation of Rasna Company. Pirojshaw Khambata came up with Rasna in the 1970s as an alternative to expensive cold drinks. This drink became popular in no time. Presently Rasna is sold in 60 countries of the world. Rasna also became popular because it is available for only one rupee.
