PIB Fact Check has given information about this by tweeting on its official Twitter. PIB has written that in a message it is being claimed that the ₹ 500 note is fake, in which the green strip is not near the RBI Governor’s signature but near the picture of Gandhiji.

- According to the Reserve Bank of India, both types of notes are valid.
