Team Vitality Confirm New ‘League Of Legends’ LEC Roster

Team Vitality has announced its roster for the 2022 League of Legends season, with the likes of Luka “Perkz” Perković and Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság joining the French organization.

The new Team Vitality LEC League of Legends roster is made up of Barney “Alphari” Morris as the Top Laner, Oskar “Selfmade” Boderek as the Jungler, Luka “Perkz” Perković as the Mid Laner, Matyáš “Carzzy” Orságas the AD Carry and Labros “Labrov” Papoutsakis as the Support.

This roster will compete in the LEC for the 2022 season, which begins in early January, with the team competing against the other top teams in Europe. In recent years Vitality has underperformed in the LEC, often choosing to try out upcoming talent and build a team from the ground up instead of signing superstar free agents. However, this year things are different, with the French organization bringing in some of the biggest free agents in the world.

“Our results for the past two years in League of Legends have not been in line with our expectations and I am not satisfied with this,” said Fabien “Neo” Devide, Co-Founder and Esports Director at Team Vitality. “It’s time for us to accelerate our ambitions and finally put into play the performance strategy we first started when Selfmade joined Team Vitality last year. I am hungry for more and this team has the potential to bring us back to the World Championship and to be the best team in our history. We have a clear vision of what we are looking to achieve and we have chosen the best players in Europe to help us accomplish our goals. This is Team Vitality’s time.”

Perkz, who is one of the most successful European players in League of Legends history made a blockbuster move from G2 Esports to North American team Cloud9 last offseason. However, after a difficult and disappointing year, he is returning to Europe to play in his home region with this new look Vitality squad.

“I am so excited to be returning to Europe with a new home at Team Vitality,” said Luka “Perkz” Perković. “When I was approached to join the team I knew straight away that they had a real passion and hunger to make 2022 their year. I’m ready to take my career to new heights and I know Team Vitality is somewhere I can continue to build a legacy.”

After being more of an afterthought in the LEC for the past couple of seasons Team Vitality certainly look like a favourite to win the competition this time out with the new roster. Of course, it remains to be seen how the roster functions on the Rift, but on paper, it certainly looks to be capable of great things.
