Delhi Directorate of Education Asks Delhi Schools To Plan 1.5 Lakh Saplings This Year: Now a unique effort is being made by the Directorate of Education (DoE Delhi) to make Delhi green and pollution free. The Directorate of Education Delhi has ordered the schools here to plant 1.5 lakh saplings in this academic session. Not only this, schools will not only have to plant saplings, but also take care of them. Its report will also have to be sent to the concerned department on the 5th of every month. From the principal of the schools to the staff, the responsibility of maintaining these plants and shrubs (Delhi Schools To Plant Saplings) will have to be taken.

According to a PTI report, DoE’s letter to schools said, ‘For the academic year 2022-23, through eco-club members, 1.50 lakh saplings, including 40,000 trees and 1.1 lakh bushes, will be planted in all schools of Delhi. The target has been set.
50 percent target is to be completed by this date –
The letter further states, ’50 percent target of plantation by all schools in all open areas and available space will be achieved by August 15. Free saplings can be obtained for plantation by each school head from any identified nursery run by the Forest Department.
What is the goal for this session?
DoE has set a target of planting at least 100 saplings, including 30 saplings and 70 bushes, for each school in the current session. School Heads are required to send updates with pictures of plants to the concerned Science Centers through Zonal Coordinators by 5th of every month.
