China Withdraws Anti AUKUS Resolution At IAEA General Conference Due Efficient Diplomacy Of India And Lack Of Support

IAEA’s 66th General Conference: India has once again foiled all the maneuvers of China. In the meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), once again China had to face it, when it did not go ahead of India’s diplomacy. China was planning to bring a resolution in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) against the joint group AUKUS of Australia-UK and America, but due to the efforts of other countries including India, this resolution could not be passed in the General Conference of IAEA.

Let us tell you, the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) was held in Vienna from 26 to 30 September 2022. China tried to pass a resolution against AUKUS demanding the supply of nuclear-powered submarines to Australia. China argued that the initiative violated their responsibilities under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

India used skilful diplomacy

Not only this, China also criticized the role of IAEA in this matter. In the midst of all this, India played an important role and used its skillful diplomacy to take this proposal of China and made many small countries against this proposal. When China came to know that despite India’s presence, this proposal would not get majority support, then it withdrew its proposal on 30 September.

Many countries praised India

Now India’s shrewd and effective diplomacy is being appreciated by the IAEA member states, especially the AUKUS partners. This step has been praised by many countries. Australia, the United Kingdom and the US established a security partnership called AUKUS in 2021 to counter China, under which nuclear-powered submarines are to be built in Australia. Because of this, China was trying to pass a resolution against AUKUS in the IAEA.
