The world is a small place they say, perhaps that makes the film industry a smaller place where everyone knows everyone and in some way connected to each other. Did you know that Chunky Panday was Akshay Kumar’s senior in a dance institute and in fact even gave him acting lessons?
Chunky Panday was recently on a show which is hosted by Cyrus Broacha. In this show Chunky made some interesting revelation where he said that he graduated from a school called Madhumati’s Dancing School and Akshay Kumar who was four to five years younger to him, entered the same institute. “You know how it is, when you just join, the teachers don’t teach you, the senior students teach you. So I used to teach him some dance moves, and some dialogue delivery,” said the actor to Cyrus Broacha.
The actor then adds that Akshay Kumar keeps joking about it, that since Chunky taught him acting, Akshay didn’t get roles initially in his career and neither did he win too many awards. “He still laughs and jokes about it. That’s why he says in the initial part of his career he didn’t get too much work or awards, because of the acting I taught him. He had to undo what I taught him and become a better actor, and that’s why he’s become Akshay Kumar.” Now that’s hilarious.
