Dhaka-bound Bus Accident Operated By Emad Paribahan 17 Killed, 30 Injured In Bangladesh Madaripur

Bangladesh: A horrific bus accident took place in Bangladesh on Sunday, in which 17 people died, while 30 people are said to be injured. The condition of some of the injured is said to be serious. In such a situation, there is a possibility that the death toll may increase. The injured have been admitted to the nearest hospital for treatment.

According to media reports, the accident happened due to the high speed of the bus and the bursting of the wheel. Being in high speed, the bus lost control and fell into the ditch. This accident happened in Madaripur area of ​​Bangladesh. According to the police, the Dhaka-bound bus, operated by Emad Transport, went out of control on an expressway in Madaripur around 7.30 am. Madaripur Superintendent of Police Mohammad Masood Alam told that the injured have been admitted to different hospitals.

Deputy Assistant Director of Fire Service, Faridpur, Shiplu Ahmed said that it is believed that the wheel of the speeding bus burst and it lost control and fell into the ditch. Three units of fire service are doing rescue work on the spot. He said that the identity of the dead and injured is yet to be ascertained.

There were total 43 passengers in the bus.

MD Sabuj Khan, an employee of the Shonadanga bus counter, told The Daily Star newspaper that there were more than 43 passengers in the accident bus, who were going to Dhaka. Road accidents are common in Bangladesh due to old and poorly maintained vehicles and roads as well as poorly trained drivers.
