This week’s World Albums chart features a new No. 1 title…but it’s not new to the tally. Just one release finds its way to the ranking for the first time, and it too becomes an instant win for the group behind the set.
Here are three titles to pay attention to on this week’s World Albums chart.
No. 1 – Tomorrow X Together – The Chaos Chapter: Freeze
Last week, Tomorrow X Together’s new full-length The Chaos Chapter: Freeze debuted at No. 4 on the World Albums chart after less than a full tracking week of activity. Now that a complete seven-day period has passed, the South Korean boy band bolts right to the summit with their latest launch.
The Chaos Chapter: Freeze replaces BTS’s Map of the Soul: 7 atop the World Albums list, bringing the band back to the summit. The group has now seen three titles hit No. 1 on the tally, or exactly half of all their releases that have placed on the tally at all.
The set’s lead single “0X1=Lovesong (I Know I Love You)” also improves its standing this frame, rising to a new high of No. 2 after entering the race at No. 3 last week.
No. 5 – Blackpink – The Album
This week’s top five on the World Albums chart is bookended by two non-BTS releases, while the South Korean septet fills in Nos. 2, 3 and 4. As Tomorrow X Together advances to No. 1 with their latest launch, Blackpink also lift slightly with their first and only full-length, The Album. The former chart-topper pushes just one space, but that’s enough for it to return to the highest half of the top 10, and it also helps the girl group break up BTS’s streak, as the seven-member vocal band also appears at No. 6.
No. 8 – Exo – Don’t Fight the Feeling
Only one new release debuts on this week’s World Albums chart, and it comes from one of the longest-charting and most beloved acts to emerge from South Korea. Exo starts their new collection Don’t Fight The Feeling, their first EP in four years, at No. 8 on the tally. The group has now broken into the top 10 on the ranking with 15 different sets, and they’re back in the list for the first time in about a year and a half.
Exo also appears at No. 6 on the World Digital Song Sales chart with the EP’s title track, which serves as its lead single.
