Sundar Pichai On Chatbot Bard: Google’s recently released chatbot Bard is going to get an upgrade soon. This was disclosed by Google CEO Sundar Pichai in the Hard Fork podcast of the New York Times. In this episode he was asked about Bard and he also admitted that it has some weaknesses.
During this he said that Bard will move from LaMDA model to the bigger PaLM model. “We obviously have more capable models. Very soon as it goes live, we’ll be upgrading Bard to some of our more capable PaLM models, which will bring more capabilities, whether it’s reasoning, coding,” he said.

“We haven’t added Bard to our most capable models yet, but we plan to add it and so I think we’re going to be balanced, but we’re going to innovate. Here’s it There’s excitement about it, so we’ll do it.”
Pichai explained on Hard Fork, “We wanted to be cautious when we took Bard public. This is the beginning of a journey for us. Since this was the first time we were bringing this out, we wanted to see We wanted to see what kind of inquiries we would get. We obviously approached it carefully.”
He added, “The company will not release a more capable model until we are absolutely sure that we can handle it well. We are all at a very early stage. We have time to add to it.” There will be more capable models out there but I don’t want it to be the same as what’s already out there, but it’s very important for us to get it right.
