Pakistan Coal Mine Blast: Nine laborers were killed and four others were injured in a gas explosion in a coal mine in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. District police officer Nazir Khan said on Thursday that a spark in the gas exploded on Wednesday at Doli coal mine in Orakzai tribal district. At that time 13 laborers were working in the coal mine.

Deputy Commissioner Adnan Khan told that bodies of 9 people including the contractor have been found. Four people have suffered serious injuries in the explosion. He has been admitted to KDA District Headquarters Hospital in critical condition. A team of officials from the Government’s Mines Development Department inspected the spot and came to the conclusion that the explosion was caused by a spark in the gas.
Still 3 laborers are trapped
Pakhtunkhwa police officer told that so far the dead bodies of 9 laborers have been removed from the coal mine. It is estimated that three laborers are still trapped inside the mine. He said that efforts are being made to save all the laborers trapped in the mine. Police said that there were 15 laborers inside the mine at the time of the incident.
Accident due to methane gas
According to media reports, the mine exploded due to methane gas coming out of the coal mine. After the explosion, 9 laborers were buried under the debris inside the mine. All of them died due to being buried under the debris.
The injured were sent to the trauma center
Even before this, there was a big explosion due to the spark of gas in the Doli Roar coal mine of Orakzai, Pakistan. 7 others were injured. There was a stir here after the blast. Coal deposits are found in northwestern Orakzai district near Afghanistan. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Balochistan had said that the four injured laborers have been transferred to the trauma center.
