Target to reach 600,000 people
FAO aims to provide agricultural inputs, livestock supplies, increase fishing facilities and provide cash assistance where needed to the approximately 600,000 people facing food crisis. This contribution will focus on the countries and people most in need of assistance through humanitarian response plans, while also maintaining a fund reserve to provide immediate assistance for sudden-onset emergencies.
According to officials, under humanitarian appeals in 2023, FAO needs US$1.9 billion to restore food production and facilitate a stable supply of nutritious food for 48 million people and to deal with future crises.
