Pakistan Terrorism Issue: The attacks of fundamentalists have increased in many parts of Pakistan. Here the local people expressed anger over the recent incident of blast in the mosque of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. More than 100 people lost their lives in the suicide attack on the mosque on January 30, after which the common people took to the streets on Friday. Many political parties also took out rallies.
The rallies in Pakistan are taking place at a time when Pakistan is affected by the wave of terrorism. Especially in Police Lines area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Mianwali city of Punjab, which are also nearby areas. In all these places, the local people protested against terrorism.
Many political parties held rallies
Several rallies were organized by local organizations in Shangla district on Friday. At the same time, the leadership of various political parties including PTI, PPP, Awami National Party (ANP) and others also addressed the rallies. During this, leaders carrying white flags demanded justice for the victims of the horrific blast in Peshawar on January 30 and lasting peace in the region.
The main rally started from Karora area and soon after reaching the district headquarters of Alpuri, it turned into a huge gathering as others joined in. While the speakers said that it was the responsibility of the concerned authorities to protect the citizens, they lamented that they were not taking interest and were only engaged in political matters.
‘Peshawar tragedy biggest security lapse’
ANP leader Muhammad Yar Khan said that the Peshawar tragedy was the “biggest security lapse”. He questioned how a suicide bomber was able to enter such a sensitive area. He said that our sole aim of taking to the streets is to “fight against terrorism and restore complete peace in the region”.
He said, “We will not allow anyone to disturb the peace.” He also questioned what steps the administration is taking regarding this matter, why security is not being given to the people.
‘If the police is not safe, then who will protect the people’
Gulammulla, a local PPP leader, said, “Police blood is not so cheap that officers should be killed on the streets or in mosques.” He highlighted that hundreds of police officers have lost their lives due to terrorism. If the police is not safe in the province, then who will protect the people?”

People are troubled by rising inflation and terrorism
Ghulamulla said the protesters wanted peace and security for the people in the province. We wish that this type of massacre should not happen anywhere else. Abid Yar, president of the Shangla Coal Mine Workers’ Rights Association, said people were facing hardship on two fronts – rising inflation and increasing terrorism.
At one point, the protesters said that if terrorism is not eliminated, they will launch a massive peace movement in the region.

PTI takes out ‘peace march’
Meanwhile, the province’s former ruling party PTI also took out ‘peace marches’ in Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda, Bannu, Lower Dir and Timargara.
