Shehbaz Sharif To Visit Turkey: After the devastating earthquake on Monday (February 6) in Turkiye (Turkey), there has been a huge devastation. More than 4 thousand people have lost their lives in Turkey and Syria. Meanwhile, many countries are coming forward to help the earthquake victims. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is going on a visit to Turkey to extend support to the earthquake-hit country. However, at this time, the Turkish government with its entire system is rapidly engaged in relief work. In such a situation, the decision of Shahbaz’s visit is being severely criticized.
According to media reports, Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif will visit Turkey on Wednesday (February 8).
Shahbaz will travel to Turkey
Pakistan’s Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb has informed about PM Shahbaz Sharif’s decision to go to Turkey. It is being told that Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari can also go along with Shahbaz Sharif. PM Shehbaz will express his condolences to the victims of the earthquake and President Erdogan for the destruction and loss of life.
Strong criticism of the decision to visit Turkey
Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif’s decision to visit Turkey is being severely criticized. Pakistani journalist Abbas Nasir has called it a foolish step. He tweeted, “How foolish. The people of Turkey will be busy with relief efforts in such a big disaster. Pakistan is suffering from terrorism, but it is being given low priority. The economy has collapsed. The people of Pakistan wish that the leader should remain among them. It is not right to impose Shahbaz’s visit on Turkey.
What a mindless gesture. The Turks will be totally preoccupied with the relief effort; coming to terms with the tragedy. Terrorism at home again given low priority. Economy in a mess. People of Pakistan need their leaders among them, not abroad. Why the imposition on Turks. https://t.co/GfC5ZwuJ7A

Pakistani PM surrounded by his own people
Another Pakistani journalist Baqir Sajjad also objected to Shehbaz Sharif’s decision to go to Turkey. He said, “Definitely there is no point in going to Turkey now. Expressing solidarity and sending necessary relief material is the need of the hour and it must be done. Instead of going there, Shahbaz government needs to look at how they can help Turkey and Syria in this disaster.
Certainly, there is no point in going to Turkiye at this point. Expression of solidarity and dispatch of goods was something that should have been done and has already been done. Instead of going there, the GoP should look at how best to support the Turk and Syrian relief efforts.

Many countries came forward to help Turkey
According to the report of the news agency Xinhua, the statement from Pakistan said that the army has sent a medical team of doctors, nursing staff, technicians, a 30-bed mobile hospital, tents and blankets and other relief materials. On the other hand, India has also sent the NDRF team to Turkey. This includes NDRF’s special search and rescue team, dog squad, medical supplies, drilling machines and other relief material for aid efforts.
