UNSC Presidency: Russia is going to chair the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) once again. Ukraine was against this and for the last few days it was continuously opposing the Russian presidency of the Security Council. The Ukrainian government is very upset with Russia becoming the President of the UNSC. Therefore, he has termed it as the worst April Fool’s joke.
Let us inform that in April, Russia is presiding over the Security Council (UNSC) only under the rules of the United Nations. Actually, Russia is one of the 5 permanent members of the Security Council and, including 10 non-permanent members of the Security Council, this number becomes 15. In this, all the 15 members of the Security Council have the chairmanship of the Security Council for 1-1 months.
Ukraine was attacked only during the previous presidency
There is a big reason for opposing the Russian presidency of Ukraine. In fact, Russia had already become the President of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in February 2022, this was the same period when the Russian army forces waged war against Ukraine and the world could not stop Russia from doing so. The representatives of Ukraine were pleading with the world community to save themselves, but since the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) was headed by Russia, the world community could not take any concrete action.
Later, America and its allies tried to stop Russia by imposing a series of trade sanctions outside the United Nations. However, Russia did not stop even then and entered Ukraine even after hundreds of sanctions were imposed. Its attacks on Ukraine are happening since February 2022, and there is no sign of stopping the war.
The war has not stopped yet, the cities of Ukraine are ruined
In this war, where Russia has lost its soldiers and weapons, Ukraine has been ruined. Lakhs of people fled Ukraine to save their lives to seek refuge in other countries. Russian missiles destroyed houses, energy plants, hospitals, metro etc. in Ukraine. At the same time, thousands of soldiers and civilians have also been killed in Ukraine.
