The 10 Bestselling Songs In Korea In April

Exactly half of the songs that sold enough copies in April in South Korea to appear somewhere between Nos. 1 and 10 are new, as fans rushed to snap up the latest releases from their favorite singers and groups. That’s not unusual, though it does show intense interest in the latest tracks and a dedication to purchasing new drops from superstars.

The Gaon Download chart ranks the bestselling individual songs in South Korea every week, and it also has a monthly component.

New at No. 1 on the monthly chart is Kang Daniel’s “Antidote,” the lead single from his latest EP Yellow. The tune was a bestseller on the weekly chart as well, so it’s not entirely shocking it ends up atop this list as well.

March’s bestseller, “My Love Like Starlight” by Lim Young-woong, holds on and performs brilliantly once again, sliding from No. 1 to No. 2 this month.

A pair of new releases come next, with NU’EST’s “Inside Out” entering at No. 3 while ASTRO’s “One” kicks off at No. 4.

Up one spot from March’s ranking is IU’s “Lilac,” which ended April as the biggest hit in South Korea when including streams and other forms of consumption.

New at No. 6 is “Atlantis” by SHINee. The song served as the title track and lead single from the band’s repackaged album Atlantis, which was something of a deluxe edition of their recent full-length Don’t Call Me.

Two tracks by the South Korean girl group Brave Girls appear next, with “Rollin’” slipping three spaces to No. 7 while “We Ride” rises into the top 10 after not finding space in the region last period. This time around, it’s up to No. 8.

Also new to the top 10 after another month of activity is “Peaches” by Justin Bieber, Giveon and Daniel Caesar. That R&B/pop effort leaps from outside the top 40, where it ranked at the end of March, to No. 9.

The last title inside the highest tier is also new, as Jinhyuk Lee’s “5K” sold well enough in the past tracking period to land at No. 10.
